VISION

To see Mercy and Justice done in our city and neighbourhoods in Word and Deed.

MISSION

The Grace Centre for Mercy and Justice is a Christ-centred ministry encouraging, educating and equipping Christians to love their neighbours and serve the broader Toronto community to the glory of God.

Values

Recognizing the beauty and brokenness of ourselves and the world we live in (Luke 10:25-37; Matt. 25:31-46; Rom. 3:23) we strive by the transforming power of Christ to love our City in word and deed (James 2:14-17; Luke 24:15). To love well, we endeavour to live out the following values:

  • Gospel centred - To teach and model along with the pastoral leadership a gospel framework for extending mercy and justice to a broken world (Micah 6:8)

  • Small group supported – To build and strengthen Grace Gatherings to nurture, encourage and actively love our church family and our neighbours (Acts 3:46)

  • Hospitality focused - To create a welcoming and supportive community for all congregants including those in need or marginalized (1. Peter 4:9; Hebrews 13:2)

  • City positive - To develop a church culture where members recognize and take initiative to meet needs of individuals, neighbourhoods and communities (Acts 4:34)

  • Partnership oriented - To develop and maintain supportive partnerships with Christian organizations that effectively serve people with needs in the City.  The partnerships are designed to support the partner agencies and also benefit  Grace Toronto congregants to meet needs of people who are in crisis or marginalized in our City

Donations for PRESSING Needs

During this third wave of Covid-19 pandemic, which has placed a special strain on the mental wellbeing of people living on the fringe, the Grace Toronto elders have directed $50,000 in donations to alleviate some of the more pressing needs expressed by some of the GCMJ affiliates and community connections:

  • Homeless Connect Toronto: for wellness kits to offer comfort to their clients

  • The Dale Ministries in the Parkdale Neighbourhood: for fuel and maintenance funds for their van to deliver relief items to individuals and families living with food and housing insecurities

  • Adam House: for mandated updates and renovations of the house and office to be able to keep serving refugee claimants

  • New Life Prison Ministry: for audio recording devices with Christian messages and songs for in-mates during a time when visits are not permitted

Praise God for giving us resources to lend support to this incredible work being done in our city!
