TANGIBLE NEEDS

Pregnancy Care Centre

  • PCC would like to meet with as many elected officials in Toronto as they can to let them know about the good work that is being done to support women who don’t want to have an abortion. If you could help set up a meeting with your local MP that would be helpful. PCC would like to have these meetings during July and August.
    • Please get in touch with Serena at serena@gracetoronto.ca if you are able to connect PCC with an elected official.
    • Needs: diapers (newborn to size 5), baby wipes (in the North York and Scarborough offices), infant formula

PRAYERS

Help love our neighbours by praying for them and the organizations that serve them.

+ CHRISTIANS AGAINST POVERTY

Praise God that clients are seeking help to get their finances in order. It can take a lot of courage to put yourself in the vulnerable place of sharing your personal finances with an organization you haven't worked with before, even if you know it is a step towards being free from unmanageable debt. Pray that God stirs the heart of Christians around these clients to support and encourage them through the process.

Pray that the organizations, debt coach, and volunteers involved in the Debt Centre have the wisdom and focus to support clients well, despite all the distractions they may face.

+ PREGNANCY CARE CENTRE

Pray that PCC will continue to provide compassionate community support to pregnant women and their families. PCC anticipates that the Canadian government will move forward with their plans to remove the charitable status of pregnancy care centres. This would severely impact their ability to help vulnerable families. Please pray this will not happen.

Pray that the families who benefit from PCC's services would affirm that they were treated with dignity, transparency, care, and love and would continue to share their stories of support.

+ SAFE FAMILIES

Praise God that, since reopening in March, Safe Families (SF) has been able to serve 10 families by hosting their children for short periods of time and/or supporting them with a family friend and family coach.

Praise God that Esther Lo (who has 14 years of experience with Children's Aid Society) has joined the SF team as a part-time coordinator.

Pray that more volunteers and churches in Toronto would join the movement to keep children safe and families together.

+ TORONTO CITY MISSION

Pray for the Sonshine Summer Day Camps. Pray that kids would come to know Christ and that these camps would be a wonderful opportunity for staff to witness to the larger community. Also, pray for good health and safety for all the campers and staff.

SERVING - FOR INDIVIDUALS

Adam House

  • Female volunteer needed to join the weekly youth ministry at Adam House East (Queen & Broadview). For more details, contact Danyao.

Christians Against Poverty

  • People in our communities are struggling with debt. We want to share the practical love of Jesus with them and are running a Debt Centre in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP). In this partnership model, qualified credit counselors at CAP’s head office negotiate with creditors, develop budgets, and explore options for clients’ journeys out of debt. We, as the local church, are at the forefront helping clients through the process, supporting them practically and spiritually, as they are equipped and empowered to pay off their debt.
    • We need committed volunteers. As sinners saved by grace, this is an opportunity for us to live out our faith by tangibly helping and humbly walking alongside our neighbours with debt. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this form.
