Reopening FAQs
When do we plan on re-opening?
We officially resumed in-person worship on Sunday, June 20, 2021.How can I attend in-person worship at 383 Jarvis St?
We distribute tickets through an online platform. When you arrive, screeners will scan a ticket barcode on your smartphone or printed ticket for a touchless/contactless entry. Combined with our leaders and volunteers, we plan to be well below the occupancy threshold maximum that caps our attendance. What will happen when I arrive?
The full sign-in process will be outlined on the tickets, but it will include:
- Getting your ticket scanned
- Ensuring you do not have symptoms
- Entering through different doors if you are being seated in the main floor or the balcony
- Projection so we will not have papers being exchanged
- Social distancing
Masks are required, and we will have some provided for those who forgot them. Are children allowed to attend in-person services?
Yes! We plan to reopen in-person children's ministry programming for children ages five to eleven on August 22. Our staff will also provide learning materials for children attending the in-person service with their parents: these can be picked up with our greeters. What about Grace West?
Grace West is currently meeting for in-person worship services at 36 Margueretta St. To learn more visit our Grace West In-Person Worship page. Will everyone have to wear a mask?
Yes. Some individuals leading the service, such as the preacher, will be able to take their masks off while physically distanced from others on the stage. Congregants in attendance are asked to follow the public health guidelines by wearing masks and adhering to social distancing. Will there be social time after service?
Not for now. Lots of people in our church family have been connecting on Sundays in smaller groups online, in-person outdoors, and even in Allan Gardens. Talk to your small group leader about ways to connect. If you are not in a small group, sign up today! What will happen if the public health situation changes?
If the public health situation changes, we are ready to make changes! We are constantly monitoring the health situation and soliciting medical advice as we update our plans. We are not motivated by the freedom we CAN take, but by the call of Christ to love our neighbour and city well. Therefore, we are fully prepared to return to pre-recorded services if needed. Watch for emails, our website, and social media posts for any changes to our reopening plans. What do I do if there are no more tickets available?
Grace Toronto will release tickets early to groups within our church family each week. These groups include clusters of Grace Gatherings, different Life Groups, and more. Our goal is that if you would like to attend in-person services, you will get a chance to get a ticket within the first month or so of being open. What happens if someone comes to church and later tests positive for COVID-19?
When people arrive at church on Sunday, they will sign-in with their ticket which will include their personal information. If we are told that someone in a service you attended has tested positive, you will be contacted.
In addition, all of our teams (music, liturgy, tech, screening and welcome) will be cohorted and rotated so that, after serving at a service, they get at least the subsequent two weeks โoffโ to quarantine if someone in their service was indeed infected. Of course, all attendees of a service that contained an infected congregant will also be required to stay home at least two weeks to see if they are free of COVID-19, before coming back to services.
